Handa Island is accessible by ferry from Tarbet pier, six miles north of Scourie. Here you will see magnificent sea-cliffs which are home to around 100,000 seabirds who gather here to breed. There are 30 or so different species including guillemots, kittiwakes, puffins, razorbills, fulmars and great skuas which can be observed at close quarters from the well maintained paths.
This island belongs to Scourie Estate and is a reserve by agreement with the Scottish Wildlife Trust. View the remnants of the original township and graveyard.
