Ben Bhraggie rises to 397 metres (1,302 ft) above sea level and this vantage point gives excellent views of Golspie, Loch Fleet and out into the Moray Firth. The hill dominates the skyline for miles around, made more prominent by the 100 foot tall statue of George Leveson-Gower, Marquess of Stafford and the first Duke of Sutherland.
Sutherland gained notoriety during the Highland Clearances as agricultural improvements on his estate saw his tenants being removed to make way for large sheep farms. The statue is affectionately known as 'The Mannie' by locals and is seen as a sign that they are almost home.
A network of mountain bike trails, the Highland Wildcat Trails, have been built on the side of Ben Bhraggie and includes the longest singletrack descent in the UK at around 7km.
