Stroma
Abandoned island off the north coast. Its name derived from the old Norse Straumr- øy – island in the tidal stream.
The population fell from 375 people to only 12 through the course of the 20th century. It is now home to sheep and seabirds, seals and beautiful wild flowers of the coast. It may be visited by boat.
