It is famous for it's Castle of Mey, which became a much-loved home to the late Queen Mother, and is still used by members of the Royal family as a holiday retreat. Outside of these times, the castle is open to the public.

The Mey Highland Games are attended by HRH Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay on the first Saturday in August each year
