Welcome back to Caithness & Sutherland
The time has finally come to welcome visitors back to Caithness and Sutherland. And as staycation’ers, avid explorers and those simply wishing to spend some time in our great open spaces venture north, our communities have been busy preparing to keep visitors and themselves safe during their trip, whilst ensuring they have the best visitor experience too!
From Friday 10th July people must wear face masks in shops and on public transport but that doesn’t mean visitors can’t breathe in the sea air of our wild coastlines and stunning beaches, taste fantastic locally produced food and drink and browse and buy art and artisan crafts from the many gift shops and makers dotted around Caithness and Sutherland

Explorers will need a comfortable bed to rest in and our list of wonderful accommodation providers range from glamping pods and exquisitely renovated barns to quiet countryside B&Bs, small hotels and self-catering cottages, many of which are pet friendly and almost all offer free WiFi so visitors can share the stunning images they’ve captured!
Whether it’s a short break or a longer adventure exploring Caithness and Sutherland or the North Coast 500, we at Venture North are excited to welcome visitors once again and wish all a wonderful trip – stay safe!
