PEEDIE PRINT
We caught up with Fiona McDonald, owner of Peedie Prints
What do you love about what you do?
I love being creative. Working from an idea in my head to a finished piece,
combining beautiful fabrics to create a product which I am proud to put my name to.
Why Caithness and Sutherland, how did you come by what you do?
I was born and bred in Caithness then moved away for nine years and moved back six years ago.
I love the open spaces, the stunning scenery and the amazing skies.
I started the sewing side of Peedie Prints when I was given an old sewing machine.
I got a few pointers from my cousin’s wife and I have never looked back, just learning as I go along.
I have now upgraded the machine and love trying out new ideas.
What are your top five places to go in the area?
Peedie Sands beach for tranquility, stunning cliffs and the sound of the sea.
Dunnet Beach – it is constantly changing with the tides, I walk on it almost daily.
Harrow Harbour for Groatie Buckie hunting, so many happy childhood memories are from Harrow.
Ham Harbour for skimming stones and watching the seals.
Duncansby Stacks - I love a good walk up to the stacks.
Located in the village of Dunnet, Peedie Prints create beautiful gifts and will be at Taste North 2019
showcasing their tweed and plaid frames, tweed and plaid slate hearts, wooden bunting and their wonderful
painted and fabric covered letter and word gifts.
Peedie Prints are offering a 5% discount on pre-made products on their Facebook page (online only),
